Media Reader Saves Time and Improves Accuracy

 

When creating optical discs, Rimage users know they can record content that is already on their computers hard drive or make a copy of an existing disc. Rimage systems also allow you to record content from a variety of memory devices such as USB or flash cards. The Rimage Media Reader supports 20 types of memory cards and is offered with or without a CD/DVD/Blu-ray reader. This Rimage accessory attaches to an embedded Rimage system or to your computer via USB, allowing it to be used across the entire range of Rimage systems.

 

While anyone that wants to record from these types of devices can make use of the Rimage Media Reader, there is additional functionality for users of the Rimage Copy Station software. By attaching a Rimage Media Reader to a Copy Station system, the Device Offload functionality is enabled. This allows easy offloading from a device straight to disc.

 

Device Offload does more than just copy content to a disc. First, it protects the source data by blocking write access to any device attached, ensuring that the data cannot be accidentally altered or erased during the recording process. Second, it streams the data directly from the device to the recorder without needing to copy it to the hard drive first. This can improve the overall speed while also being useful for Law Enforcement evidence or other sensitive data.

 

While using the Device Offload functionality or using the Rimage Media Reader with Quick Disc™ software, all of the powerful features that the Rimage Software Suite offers are available. This includes MD5 verification to ensure the data was copied successfully and not altered in anyway. Whether the need is archiving family photos from a camera flash card or processing evidence from a crime scene, the Rimage Media Reader can help save time and improve accuracy.
